LAKES

When the chemical composition within a given canal starts fluctuating, the surrounding environment begins to degrade and dilapidate very quickly. The local fauna die off, salinization of freshwater occurs, deforestation is nearly inevitable, and infective pathogens prosper in the midst of incessant pollution. As a result, the destitute victims within these all-too-common situations are always the neighboring lakes. When mankind imposes its destructive will on the environment, the environment tends to respond in unruly ways.
