VTW Services Ltd applied tests of a new dispersant solution (MSL) of their own preparation, in a fishing shelter under the continuous supervision by the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research (DFMR). The aforementioned tests started in August 6th of 2015 and lasted for 2 months.

Following the tests we performed, in the presence of the DFMR Team, in a specific maritime space indicated by us, the above products has been considered efficient both for dispersing oil spill, heavy fuel oil, and for cleaning the fishing shelter from oil waste deposits.

VTW has therefore been given the appropriate certificates from the Director of the DFMR, for the registration and use of the MSL dispersant which can be used in the maritime space of the Republic of Cyprus.

Stage 1: Oil Spill
The oil spill is black in color at the surface of the water column and one stuck at the sediments in the marine environment.
Stage 2: Oil Spill treated with MSL 250
From black the oil turns to brown when MSL 250 solution has acted upon it and the evaporation is at its initial stages.
Stage 3: Evaporation oil spill in process
The oil is light brown in color and there is moderate evaporation and bio-degradation.
Stage 4: Final stage of evaporation oil spill
The oil and the pollutant started to clear and is at the final stage of the evaporation process with a sheen color.
Stage 5: Treatment of the water and its marine environment
The marine environment is now clean, with adequate aeration of the water and the aquatic life thriving without being affected by the possible toxicity of the environment.
